The sight of a solitary dog-rose reminds me
it was June when we became engaged
(but I never did remember the date)

    The sight of a dog rose, solitary or otherwise, reminds me that it should be summer.

    Marooned in the depths of the Shropshire Hills I long for a sight of the sea, preferably the flat, estuarine kind.
